Choku KIMURA
I engage in creative activities using photography, film, and installations, focusing on 'Records and Succession of National Leprosy Sanatoriums as Living Spaces' and 'Unseen Violence/Seen Violence.' The inspiration for my work dates back to when my mother was a university student, and she visited the National Sanatorium Okinawa Airakuen (leprosy sanatorium). Since the age of two, I have been accompanying my parents to visit the National Sanatorium Okinawa Airakuen. I believe that the essence of being an artist lies in being true to oneself.
